Benedict Cumberbatch
I became a fan of Mr. Cumberbatch after watching the updated Sherlock Holmes series on PBS. I find that show to be sheer genius! It is updated for a modern audience (which honestly, always gives me pause) but it is done with great care to be authentic to the spirit of the original Arthur Conan Doyle characters. As an actor, Benedict Cumberbatch conveys the unmatched intelligence of Sherlock Holmes, as well as the “high functioning sociopathic” behaviors which make Holmes so interesting. With this drawing, I’m focusing on the eyes. A lot is going on behind those eyes.
