Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett
Another of my childhood (and adult) favorite tv shows is The Beverly Hillbillies. Leading the Clampett clan was Jed Clampett played by Buddy Ebsen, a veteran Hollywood star. This drawing shows Jed in all his hillbilly finery—the beat up old hat, collar-less shirt, and ragged coat. It’s a face that shows a twinkle of humor and you expect to hear, “well, doggies” at any moment.
