Lucy and Ricky
I’m of an age where coming home from school meant watching old black and white TV shows like The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy. They ran every afternoon and I was a faithful fan. As the title says, I love Lucy. She was the queen of comedy. Her face, while very beautiful, was capable of contorting itself into several comedic forms. For this portrait, I selected a classic “Lucy, what have you done now?” pose. Ricky was always catching Lucy in the midst of one of her escapades and Lucy always had that deer in the headlights look in response. This double portrait captures that moment.
