Robin Williams
I like comedy. I loved Robin Williams’ comedy. Like most folks my age, my first exposure to Robin Williams was through the hit TV show, Mork and Mindy (Na Nu, Na Nu). Of course, as I grew up, Robin’s comedy specials starting airing on HBO. These were much racier and adult than good old Mork, but I, like thousands of others couldn’t help but crack up over his manic behavior on stage. He seemed to be a man of a thousand voices and could ad lib with the best of them. His versatility showed itself in the variety of movies he made throughout his lifetime. From the serious, Good Will Hunting to the silly, Flubber, he always shined in his roles. I was devastated to hear he had committed suicide. You felt like you knew him and you lost a member of the family. It is sad to think about what he must have been dealing with inside. I drew Robin in action. I imagine it was hard to capture a photo of him because he seemed to always be moving. In my drawing his mouth is open as if he’s in the middle of telling a good joke. He was one of my favorites and he is still missed.
