Clark Gable, 1932

The original “king of Hollywood”, Clark Gable may not be as familiar to modern movie goers but at his height, no one came near him in popularity at the Box Office.  I chose a still from one of his films to work with.  I think it shows the rugged handsomeness that women loved and men envied.  Also, this was before the pencil thin mustache.  Without it, his overall appearance was much more modern looking.  If you aren’t familiar with his work, I’d suggest looking for It Happened One Night as a great introduction to Gable.  It is a Frank Capra comedy that stands up well even today over 80 years later.
